Franco Perrotti was born in Chieti in 1953. In 1973 he abandoned Pescara Faculty of architecture and went to Milan to attend Marcolli and Munari’s courses at the Scuola Politecnica di Design. From 1977 to 1986 he worked at the Centro Progetti Tecno in Milan, designing catalogue products and planning renovations as well as showroom and event installations. In 1986, after a brief collaboration with the Meriño Design studio in Barcelona, he organised the Perrotti Dissociati studio in Milan, which deals mainly with industrial and interior design, graphics, exhibition installations and model-making. In collaboration with various companies, Franco Perrotti designed objects for offices, houses, community spaces and airports.
These are a few of the projects the studio has dealt with over the last few years:
- "Connie of Dar" boutique within the Sheraton Hotel in Dar Es Salam - Tanzania;
- First Investment Bank in Bulgaria
- head office in Sofia and branch offices in Bourgas;
-administrative offices in Sirte in Libya;
-interior design Oly Hotel in Rome
-fittings for Forte’s Hotel in Manchester;
-interior design of private houses in Italy and abroad;
- interior design for the shop and the cafeteria in "La Civitella" archeological museum in Chieti.
-design and installation of the Terrazza Stellario bar in the "La Civitella" museum archeological park in Chieti.
- design of the Bamor offices in Milan.
He also designed single pieces for exhibitions, private houses and public spaces. His articles and interviews have been published in specialist magazines such as Abitare, AD, Casa Amica, Domus, Gap Casa, Il Grifo, Interni, Habitat Ufficio, L'Espresso, Modo, Office Layout, OFX Office International, On, Ottagono, Panorama, Vario, Virus, Vogue Casa.
In 1997, he returned to the sea, in Abruzzo, making an long-cherished dream come true a year later when he launched Rude Bravo Design Workshop: an workshop for ideas, projects, products and artefacts.
