Bio: Fred has been drawing for as long as he can can remember, he still has some of those early drawings, often inspired by early British Sci fi shows like Dr. Who and the Gerry Anderson puppet series. It seemed that a career in Illustration, in particular a career in SF or fantasy illustration, was inevitable.

After graduating from the Derby College of Art and Technology, now Derby University, he took a part time job delivering groceries, painting in his spare time. Trips down to London with his portfolio eventually led to his first book cover commissions.

He continued to work as an Illustrator for clients on both sides of the Atlantic. Clients include Penguin, Warner books, Little Brown, Thames Television, National geographic, Scientific American, Leo Burnet, Der Speigel, Paramount, Agent 16, Whizzkids, Lego, Mattel, AVP and The US Postal service.

In 2001 he was approached by DNA productions in Dallas to work on the Oscar nominated "Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius" for which he was Concept artist and matte painter.

That started a new career as concept artist and art director for film and animation, clients include Rainmaker Vancouver, Framestore London, Rhythm and Hues LA and Cartoon Network LA.

In between these film projects Fred has continued to work on freelance and publishing projects including images for the picture book for Eragon and Alienology, both for templar publishing UK. For Alienology, apart from the images in the book, Fred designed, modeled and animated a space station for the connected interactive web site.

He lives in Derbyshire England.
