Maxine Leonard (Kunst)

Maxine started her make-up career at the respected London College of Fashion whilst studying a BA course in Hair, Make-up and Styling. Already aware that make-up was where her passion lay, she started to draw and play with various colors and textures. It was at the same time that Maxine began assisting at the runway shows during London Fashion Week.
Upon completion of her course at the London College of Fashion, Maxine began working at Shu Uemura. Within months she showed her individual strengths and talent by winning a UK competition which ultimately led her to represent the Shu Uemura brand in an international competition held in Paris.

Following similar successes Maxine was requested to travel to Japan and become part of the Shu Uemura Artistic Team. This is where she learnt the philosophy and ethos of the brand. During this period Maxine led seminars and Master classes on stage demonstrating looks that she and the team had created. Maxine played an integral part with regards to the development of the Shu Uemura product line whilst consulting on the trend forecasts and concepts.

Maxine has directed her make up team for various international fashion shows including; Hugo Boss, (LA, Hong Kong, Germany, Amsterdam), Karen Walker NY, Reem Acra NY, Just Cavali Milan, Tse Cashmere NY, Peter Jenson, Levis, Fake London, Louis de Gama & Boyd in London.

Her work can be seen on the covers and pages of various magazines such as Vogue (British, French, German, Japanese, Russian and Chinese), Harper's Bazaar, Numero, i-D, Wonderland, Man About Town, Dazed & Confused, Teen Vogue, W Korea and V Magazine.

In addition, Maxine works regularly on celebrities such as Demi Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Evan Rachel Wood, Eva Mendes, Megan Fox, Lucy Liu, Yasmin Le Bon, Lou Doillon, Kiera Knightley, Jessie J, Adele, Claudia Schiffer, Anna Friel, Eva Herzigova, Yasmin Le Bon, Paz de la Huerta and Lily Allen.

Advertising clients include Hugo Fragrance, Harry Winston, L'Oreal, Redken, Paula Ka, Pringle, Exte, 360 BEAUTY, Dr Martens, Stills, Levis and Nike.

Maxine is the Beauty Director of Wonderland magazine where her role involves developing and directing concepts for both beauty stills and moving imagery.

Maxine is currently based in London.
