Pieter Zandvliet (Kunst)
Coming soon...Statement Pieter Zandvliet, Leiden 1969
Throughout the years visual artist Pieter Zandvliet created his own world with his drawings and paintings, in where contrasts play a big role. From black and white, to bright colors. From strong to vulnerable figures. Every day Pieter thinks of new characters, which he puts on the virgin white paper or canvas without sketching. This way his world keeps on growing and growing. And it will never stop. Every time new characters appear.
Fools, that appear to be far away from reality, are a favorite subject of Pieter. The fools wont look at you directly and they seem to be not impressed by the world around them. But they sprung from Pieter his mind. It seems they will never leave.
Vulnerable children and unsatisfied models are gladly drawn by Pieter. Also animals are often visiting Pieter his world. Sometimes theses animals are just what they are, but sometimes they change in to human like creatures.
Visitors of his exhibition get lost in the world that Pieter imposes. But there is also rest in Pieter his work. This is because Pieter is quite consistent in his style, and with this style he goes all the way. He uses his own reality for his artificial world. He sucks up all the information, with a feeling for the unusual. This way he lives the days of his life, which he loves to share with others.
