Alice Lane (Kunst)

*****Alice Lane grew up in Shropshire, England. From an early age, Alice was involved in theatre, painting, drawing and writing. Her father was a Police detective which led to a fascination with human emotions and personalities. As a young child, she often took trips to the National Portrait Gallery and Tate, which had a huge effect on her. After art school, Alice moved to London and joined a band. While pursuing music, Alice began grooming musicians for photo shoots and performances. She moved to New York City, and Alice soon decided to devote her time to doing make up, and to do so, began assisting established make up artists.

Influenced greatly by the work of Federico Fellini, Ingmar Bergman and David Lynch and the music of Nick Cave, Joy Division and The Smiths, to name a few, Alice loves the expression, freedom and possibilities that makeup provides from creating a complete transformation to pure and simple beauty.

Alice’s work can be seen on the pages of Vogue, Vogue Japan, Vogue Germany, Vogue China, Teen Vogue, Elle, W, V and Harper’s Bazaar. She has worked with photographers Bruce Weber, Patrick Demarchelier, Annie Leibovitz, Kacper Kasprzyk and Ben Hassett. She has led groups of assistants for two seasons of resort shows with famed designer, Oscar de la Renta. Her advertising clients include H & M, Sephora, Urban Decay and Anteprima.

Alice Lane resides in New York.
