Dai Michishita (Kunst)

Born and raised in a small town named Fukuyama, Japan, Dai moved to Tokyo at the young age of 17 to pursue his dream of being a hair dresser. In Tokyo, he honed his skills, and found his way to NY to start his career as a freelance stylist in the fashion industry.

After a couple of years of assisting prominent hairstylists, Dai began working on his own. His editorial clients range from Vogue (Japanese, China, German and British editions), V, Wonderland, New York Times and Allure to name a few. Dai has worked with renowned photographers such as Raymond Meier, Miles Aldridge, Arthur Elgort, Paola Kudacki, Liz Collins, David Bailey, Takay and Annie Leibovitz.

Dai Michishita’s career extends itself into advertising campaigns such as Hogan, Bergdorf Goodman, Levi’s, Victoria’s Secret and Vivienne Tam. He enjoys working on shows in New York and Paris, and has regularly keyed hair for Rebecca Taylor during New York fashion week.

Dai divides his time between New York and Tokyo; two cities that strongly influence Dai Michishita’s work.
