Decorating on a Budget: Inexpensive Ways to Add Color to Your Home.

1) Paint: Painting your walls is the quickest way to add color to a room. Paint can still be expensive, however. On a strict budget? Try painting one wall in a room. This will create a focal point and add a pop of color to the room without costing a lot of money. 2) Paint the Back of a Bookshelf: This is a really simple and inexpensive way to instantly add color to a room. You can also try to wallpaper the back of a bookshelf for a patterned look. 3) Paint a Piece of Furniture: Another great way to use paint is to paint an entire piece of furniture. This is especially a great idea for renters, who cannot paint their walls. Painting a dresser or an accent table can bring a pop of color into a room instantly. 4) Bring in Natural Elements: One of my favorite things to do, especially in the dining room and kitchen, is to add color with natural elements. I love glass jars filled with spices like basil or parsley. Also, a glass jar filled with fruit makes a great centerpiece. 5) Accent Pieces: Placing accent pieces around a room is the single easiest way to add color. Add throw pillows, vases, colored picture frames, etc. in your accent color around the room. http://shabbytochicdesigns.com/?p=257#more-257
