Luke Baker (Kunst)

*****
Born and raised in Oxford, UK, Luke Baker moved to the United States to pursue a career in hair styling. Wanting to work in the fashion industry at an early age, he began seeking education by training at Vidal Sassoon in London and soon found the profession suited him perfectly. He soon began assisting some of the finest hair dressers in the world of high fashion.

If Luke had to name his big break, it would be early in his career while working at Patricia Fields with Amanda Lepore, which put him on the path to be discovered by David LaChapelle. His first job in fashion was styling Courtney Love’s hair for the cover of I-D Magazine and the rest is history.

Luke has worked with photographers such as David LaChapelle, Guy Aroch, Richard Prince, Riccardo Tinelli, Sam Haskins, Mary Ellen Matthews, Jessica Craig Martin, Tesh, Jem Mitchell, Michaela Rossato, and David Byun.

His editorial work has appeared in i-D, Pop, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Tokion, Numero Tokyo, Elle (Spanish, French, and American Editions), German Vogue, Interview, Flair and GQ.

Luke Baker’s advertising campaigns include Diesel, Neiman Marcus, Bulova, Skyy Vodka, Macy's, Stuart Weitzman, Kia Koon, Tag and Guess by Marciano.

Luke is currently based in New York City.
