From a young age Samuel Paul knew he was going to be an artist. The third generation Los Angeles native with a BA in Fine Arts originally intended to pursue a career as a portrait painter; he loved working with the mediums of oil paints and pastels.

However with his fondness for photography and fashion he transitioned those skills into makeup artistry. Samuel was inspired by legendary artist Kevin Aucoin and his ability to transform iconic beauties such as Janet Jackson with the use of makeup. He is also greatly appreciative to have assisted makeup artist Billy B.

Some of Samuel’s celebrity clients include Anika Noni Rose, Kimora Lee Simmons, Mel B, Vivica Fox and Olivia Munn. Samuel also works on several fashion and beauty advertising campaigns such as Forever 21, Paul Mitchell, Dynamite Canada and Joico.He has had the pleasure of collaborating with incredible photographers Andrew MacPherson, Matthew Jordan Smith and Tony Kelly among others.

Samuel continues to explore his love of Fine Art and plans on completing a series for gallery showing. He also sees a future in product development and looks forwards to creating his own line of products.

Samuel is currently based in Los Angeles.
