Gesine Bullock-Prado is the creator of Gesine Confectionary, based in Vermont. She has been featured on the TODAY show, the Rachael Ray Show, and Food Network. Her new PBS cooking show, Life from Scratch, is set to air in spring 2013. She lives in Vermont.

I owned all her books and this book is so beautiful like the rest of her previous books. The pictures is out standing with many interesting recipes. I baked from her other books regularly so I know the recipes from this book will produce good result. My first recipe to bake will be french macaron, yum. You rock Gesine!!!!!!!!!!

Gesine Bullock-Prado never disappoints, and this one is a gem in itself. These gorgeous cakes will make the cook appear to be a Master cook, especially when the cake is attractive not only on the outside, but the inside as well with clever designs. Many years ago, I took a cake decorating course. However, I have learned a great deal more from this book. I was searing for a variety of different types of cakes and flavors, and this author provides it all. There are Mousse cakes, Tarts, Cheesecakes, Sponge cakes and much more. One of my favorite is Pound cake, and some of the colorful photos make your mouth water, just looking at the inviting picture. Another favorite of mine is anything Meringue, and the author provides a huge selection of all types of cakes. In addition, there is a choice of flavor combinations, notes by the recipes, and information on tips and tricks. This fun-filled cookbook for cakes inspires the reader what to choose for different occasions and special events. This is the first cookbook on cakes that I've seen with excellent quality, and a variety of delicious recipes for gorgeous cakes. A treasure trove for any cook, and a great gift idea for those who enjoy baking. Highly recommended!
