Paul Chaigneau (Kunst)
Paul Chaigneau (1879-1938) is an important Barbizon painter who along with his father Jean-Ferdinand Chaigneau painted plein-air and animal subjects along with Charles Jacque and Jean Francois Millet. He painted scenes from Bordelais, Landes, Limousin, and Normandy in addition to scenes from the forest of Fontainebleau. He was instrumental in the development of the Musée Municipal de lEcole de Barbizon where his work is highly regarded as one of the visionaries in the development of the Barbizonmovement.
