Green wedding reception (Overig)

Serve drinks in compostable cups (aka "corn cups").
Instead of individual water bottles, provide pitchers of water on tables.
If you're going with disposable flatware, choose compostable knives, forks and spoons made from potatoes.
During cocktail hour, serve foods that don't require utensils.
Work with your venue and caterer to either compost surplus food, or donate it to a local food bank. (In these tough times, food banks are more needy than ever, and love being able to give their patrons something fresh.)
If you're planning a flower petal aisle, make sure the flower petals are from actual flowers, not synthetic.
Recycle. Ask the venue to set out bins clearly marked for bottles and cans
